Artfunder was founded in June 2020 to cover the arts globally with an eye toward promoting solutions to help independent artists survive and thrive in the new digital economy. Since even before the dawn of civilization, art has been essential to our culture and identity as humans. But still today, artists are being forced to abandon their craft to pursue economic prosperity. We believe that human progress is stagnating because society is failing to correctly incentivize artistic creativity. In addition to providing readers with insight into the creative process and the arts ecosystem, we aim to challenge the deficiencies in the economy which are preventing so many independent artists from pursuing their true creative vision.
