GIG’s purpose is to create a new peer-to-peer global cloud, that delivers local, neutral, green and secure cloud capacity.
To realise this, GIG has built technology along 3 disruptive technologies:
• Edge Cloud, a decentralised made of locally ‘distributed’ connected devices based on our own distribution of Linux (called Zero-OS) and our own Cloud Orchestration (At-Your-Service).
• Zero-Robot, enabling intelligent automation, application orchestration and self-healing, delivering on the purpose of running a full cloud with Zero People.
• Zero-Chain, our Proof-of-Stake based blockchain toolset which allows faster & more green blockchain workloads with integrated blockchain database and blockchain identity
management.
GIG is founded by Kristof De Spiegeleer, a serial technology entrepreneur with 20+ years’ experience
and 6 successful exits for his various companies to Sun, VMware, Verizon, Western Digital and others. Kristof teamed up with CEO, Willem Hendrickx, a prominent technology and telecom executive, most recently President of Alcatel-Lucent EMEA. GIG has over 100 employees and offices in Ghent, Dubai and Cairo.
